SILC Lab Interaction Meetings are for analyzing interaction data and sharing work in progress. Students and faculty (interested in) using conversation analysts meet at least monthly during Winter, Fall, and Spring terms. For each session, one group member prepares the data - one short extract or several fragments from audio/video recordings along with transcripts. During the session, we view the data several times and then share our observations. This format provides us with opportunities to a) analyze data from various languages/settings, b) share in each others’ research and develop new questions, c) present difficult data samples to a friendly audience for feedback, and d) hone our analysis skills.
You can join the group at any time. If you would like to participate, email me ahead of time or simply drop in.
